Managing Digestive Disorders

My name is Lilith Maclin and if you suffer from a digestive disorder, you can find a wealth of information about this type of medical condition in my blog. Three years ago, my husband was having severe stomach cramps and his doctor told him that he had a digestive disorder called ulcerative colitis. After my husband was diagnosed, I did thorough research to learn how to control and manage this disorder. We kept track of everything that my husband ate and when a certain food caused a flare-up of his condition, he eliminated that food from his diet. By learning all we could about this digestive disorder, my husband has been able to live pain free. If you want more information about this disorder and how to manage it, you can find it here by reading my blog.

Dealing With Lower Back Pain

Louella Davidson

Many people suffer from back pain on a regular basis. There are several reasons why a person may have lower back pain. In order to help to alleviate pain from occurring in the first place, you should take a look at some of your daily activities to try and determine if there is a something that you can change in the way you are doing things. Here are some ideas that you can try to help soothe lower back pain.

Try To Find Reason

You should try to find out why you are having back pain so that you can make changes in your habits to stop the pain from occurring. If you are standing or sitting for long periods of time, you need to make a point to take a break every so often to break up your routine. If you are wearing shoes without the proper support needed, you may need to think about purchasing a new pair. If you have been injured, you will need to take steps to heal.

Using Temperature To Help

If you have had an injury, you should always hold off on applying heating to your back until after any inflammation has subsided. Heat can make inflammation worse. Use cooling packs on your back for a few days to help reduce inflammation. If you did not have an injury or after the inflammation is gone, you can use heating to help relieve the pain in your lower back. Use heating pads or take warm baths for relief. Both temperature methods should be used for about twenty minutes at a time to relieve pain.

Keep Your Muscles Moving

You should try to do some light exercises to keep your back strengthened. Even if you had sustained an injury, light stretches can help relieve pain in your back. Try reaching your arms into the air, stretching your back in the process. Do this several times a day to help relieve pain and to keep your back muscles moving. You can try some easy yoga movements to help relax your back, as well.

Change Your Routine

Make a note as to what activities you do seem to aggravate your back. These are things that you should probably change to help heal. If you are slouching a lot at a desk, use a different ergonomic-friendly chair along with something to rest your feet upon. Always lift using your legs instead of your back. These little movement changes can help your back in the long run.

Medical Help

If you are not able to relieve the pain in your back on your own, you may need to see a doctor to get help. A chiropractor is a doctor that specializes in back troubles. You may benefit from a trip to a chiropractor, as they would be able to realign your back, stopping pain in the process. You may need to take some mild aspirin or pain relievers under doctor's orders.
