Managing Digestive Disorders

My name is Lilith Maclin and if you suffer from a digestive disorder, you can find a wealth of information about this type of medical condition in my blog. Three years ago, my husband was having severe stomach cramps and his doctor told him that he had a digestive disorder called ulcerative colitis. After my husband was diagnosed, I did thorough research to learn how to control and manage this disorder. We kept track of everything that my husband ate and when a certain food caused a flare-up of his condition, he eliminated that food from his diet. By learning all we could about this digestive disorder, my husband has been able to live pain free. If you want more information about this disorder and how to manage it, you can find it here by reading my blog.

Catering To A Bad Back At Home

Louella Davidson

If you have a bad back, then there are some changes you may want to make to your home that will help you to move around better and to be in less pain. By putting the changes in effect, you can get more enjoyment out of your home, and have more good days than bad. Consider some of the ideas below to create an environment that will be easier on your back.

Get yourself the right office chair

If you spend a good amount of time in a home office, or even at a computer desk, then you should invest in a proper office chair. This will be a chair that has built in lumbar support. This type of chair will be much more comfortable for you to use and you won't feel as stiff when you get up from it. If your back problems cause you to be unsteady on your feet, then you want to make sure your chair has a wheel lock on it if it has wheels on the bottom.

Have a handheld faucet installed in the kitchen

When you have a bad back, you can experience a lot of pain and discomfort when you do the dishes. Leaning over the sink can put too much pressure on your back. Having a handheld faucet installed will give you more freedom to stand straighter and move around a bit while you are doing the dishes.

Get a stackable washer and drier set

Even some of those simple chores, like doing laundry can be difficult when you are constantly dealing with a bad back. Leaning over to maneuver your clothes in and out of the drier can really hurt. With stackable machines, the drier will be on the top, so you won't have to do any bending when you are using the drier.

Get a lift chair

If getting up from the seated position causes you pain, then you'll be glad to know there is a type of chair that will even help with this. You should think about getting a lift chair. This is a recliner style chair that lifts forward when you want to stand up. This allows you to get help getting up out of the chair. Contact medical facilities for more information about lift chairs.

Following all this advice, or even any of it, will help you to create a more comfortable home for yourself that caters to the physical needs of your back.
